Mrs. Helen (Betty) Baker, 70, of Stone Mountain, died Monday, September 26, 2011. A homemaker, Mrs. Baker was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Decatur Chapter #148 and Electa Chapter #6, where she served as a Past Matron. She also served as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and a former member of North Decatur United Methodist Church. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a grandson and is survived by her husband, Virgil Baker; sons, Dren Baker and his wife Karen, John Baker; daughters, Laura Ann Miller and her husband Alan, Helen Elizabeth Skelton and her husband Ronnie; sister, Joyce Marie Culpepper; and nine grandchildren. Memorial will be held Wednesday, September 28th at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. John Whatley, Rev. Miguel Velez and Dr. Dave Ring officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
