Helen Camp

Mrs. Helen Camp, 93, of Decatur, GA, passed away on Christmas morning, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Sale City, GA to Thomas King Brock and Mary Pearl Slocumb. Helen was a University of Georgia graduate and went on to teach for many years until it was time for her to raise her family. She was an active member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Joyful Sunday School Class. She's survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Bill Camp, Decatur, GA; daughter, Julie Kiefer, Alpharetta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Gilbert, Lawrenceville, GA; four grandchildren, Darcy Dober, Chicago, IL, Michael and Melinda Gilbert, Lawrenceville, GA, Adam and Whitney Kiefer, Wake Forest, NC, Benjamin and Jodi Kiefer, Canton, GA and two precious great grandchildren; Allison Gilbert and Dean Camp Kiefer. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Pitts officiating. Helen will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Road Decatur, GA 30033 or to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur is in charge of the arrangements.
