Helen Cox

Helen Kelly Cox, age 91, formerly of Decatur, died Sunday, March 13th at Laurelbrook Nursing Home in Dayton, Tennessee. A native of Pikeville, Tennessee, Helen moved to Chattanooga in her early 20s where she met her husband of 54 years, Harry Maxey Cox, who predeceased her in 1999. The couple was married in a small ceremony in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1944. In 1948 the couple moved to Decatur and had two sons, Frederick Arthur, now of Miramar Beach, Florida and James Marion, now of Tucker, GA. Additional surviving relatives include one sister, Betty Hamilton of Pikeville; grandsons, Alex Cox of Atlanta, Eddie Goicolea of Miami, and Anthony Goicolea of New York City; as well a number of loving nephews and nieces. Cryptside services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Abbey at Westview Cemetery. A. S. Turner and Sons.
