Helen Cuneo

Helen Corrigan Cuneo (79) passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2024 in Atlanta Georgia after a long illness. Helen was born June 18th, 1945, in Dublin Ireland. She was educated at The Loreto College St. Stephens Green, Dublin. She trained as a pharmacy assistant and worked with her father, Hugh Corrigan, in the family's business at Corrigan's Pharmacy, Malahide Road Dublin. Helen went on to train as a registered nurse and a midwife, before emigrating to the US. There she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Emory University. Atlanta. Helen had a long career at Georgia Baptist Hospital/ Atlanta Medical Center as a nurse manager. She married her soulmate Robert Cuneo in 1991, and they had a happy life together until his death in 2021. She found peace, joy and comfort in her Catholic Faith through both the challenges and celebrations of life.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Ellen Lynam and Hugh Corrigan, as well as her husband Robert Cuneo. She is survived by her siblings, Owen Corrigan (Olive) Dublin Ireland, Geraldine McFarlane (Allister) Donegal, Ireland, and Fr Hugh Corrigan, Devon U.K. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Eadaoin, Deirdre, Gemma, Helen, Eilis, Jamie, and by her good friend Anne Kirslis.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 27th, 2024, at St Pius X Catholic Church, Conyers, Georgia.

The burial will follow at 12 noon in Honey Creek Woodlands. Monastery of The Holy Spirit Conyers Georgia.
