Helen Jean Koch

April 23, 1927 — May 19, 2013

Helen Jean Ford Koch, 86, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 19 in Greenville, SC. She was the beloved wife of Paul Frederick Koch, and an adored mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born April 23, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clifford Ford. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother, John Clifford Ford, Jr. and sister, Meville Ford Walker. She is survived by her husband, Paul, their daughters, Kathy Ratliff of Saluda, NC, Nancy Ketchum of High Point, NC, and Susan Barron of Huntingtown, MD. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 300 Ministry Drive, Irmo, SC, 29063, www.lutheranhomessc.org. A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons at 11:30 am Thursday May 23 with interment in Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain, GA. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Decatur, GA.
