Helen K. Wood

Mrs. Helen K Wood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2007. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was a member of the Avondale First Baptist Church for fifty-four years. She was an Atlanta native and attended Girls High School. She was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club for fifty-one years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William A. Wood, Jr. She is survived by her daughters: Elaine & Byron Norris, of Cumming, Ga., Susan & Phil VidiI, of Snellville, Ga, Shirley & Robert Lanham, of Winder, Ga., Margaret Wear, of Irvine, Ca., and Kelley & Leon King, of Lilburn, Ga. Grandson: Tommy & Heidi Carlisle, of Cumming, Ga. Granddaughters: Lisa & Mark Grogan, of Cumming, Ga., Casey & James Mitchell, of Snellville, Ga., Ellen Lanham, of, Statham, Ga., Jamie Scribner, of Snellville, Ga., Rachel Duggan of Irvine, Ca., Andrea King, of Lilburn, Ga., Hope Wear, of Irvine, Ca., and Maggie Wear, of Irvine, Ca. Great Grandsons: Jacob Melancon of Statham, Ga., and Shaun Mitchell, of Snellville, Ga. Sister-in-Laws: Frances Kelley, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Melba Wood of Gadsden, Al. Nephew: William R. Kelley, Jr., of Stone Mountain, Ga. Nieces: Lynn Wells, of Gadsden, Al., and Mary Smith, of Newnan, Ga. The family will receive friends at A.S. Turner & Sons on Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Avondale First Baptist Church.
