Helen Louise Bounds

Louise Knight Bounds, wife of the late Thomas E. Bounds, was reared in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Lorene Knight of Pascagoula, Mississippi. She is survived by one sister, Maxine K. Jaquith of Leesburg, Florida, nieces Mrs. Joe Colingo and Ms. Linda Harkey of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Ms. Amy Jaquith of Leesburg, Florida, and Ms. Brenda Jaquith of San Francisco, California, nephews Mr. Joe Jaquith of Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. John Walker of Austin, Texas, Mr. Larry Ashley, Mr. David Harvison and Mr. L. D. Harvison of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and other great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bounds was a volunteer at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center for many years and in 1997 was awarded Volunteer of the Year for the State of Georgia Assembly of Community Arts Agencies. She was a member of the Callanwolde Guild, a past President of the Guild, and Chairman of the Christmas at Callanwolde. She was on the Board of the DeKalb History Center and also a trustee. She was a member of the DeKalb Library Foundation. She was a member of Clairmont Presbyterian Church and a Past Moderator for Clairmont Presbyterian Women. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 3:00pm with a reception to follow at 4:00pm at Clairmont Presbyterian Church, located at 1994 Clairmont Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033. Dr. Tom Pipkin will be officiating. A graveside burial will be in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 980 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30306, or Clairmont Presbyterian Church.
