Helen Louise Nixon Taylor, 89, of Atlanta, died February 13, 2014. She grew up in Carroll County and attended Mr. Zion High School. Helen married Wm. Howard Taylor of Griffin, Georgia, on December 25, 1941, right after Pearl Harbor and before he shipped off to WWII. Helen was a charter member of Belvedere UMC. She earned her certification as the school dietician for Hooper Alexander Elementary. After retirement in 1984, she and her husband spent many years together enjoying their family and traveling until his death in 1998. They had been married 56 years. She lived in the same house they shared in DeKalb County for 61 years. She was so proud of the most special joys of her life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Taylor Farmer, and her favorite son-in-law, M. Lynn Farmer of Atlanta; granddaughter, Hope and Jay Cummings of Trophy Club TX; grandson, Tate Farmer of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Dylan Cummings and Polly Cummings of Trophy Club, and Caleigh Chapman of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.
