Helen Strong

Helen M. Strong, age 83, died peacefully on Friday February 29, 2008 surrounded by her family and close friends. Helen retired after teaching 25 years so that she could care for her husband, Charles Strong, who preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by her son, Murray Strong (Donna) of Marietta, GA, daughters Barbara Caruso (Gary) of Johns Creek, GA and Nonie Tennent (Lee) formerly of Lilburn, GA. Her son, Charles "Buddy" Strong preceded her in death in 2000. Included among those left to cherish memories of Helen are her sister, Frances Dumpel (Frits) of Hilton Head, SC; her nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephanie, Beth, Elizabeth, Zack, Jack, Lauren, Jonathan and Katie; four nephews Bill, Dave, Peter and Scott Lyle; dear friend of 50 years, Marguerite Oberg, and former students Neal Manners and Robert Gerwig. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 2 pm on Monday, March 3rd at North Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, GA. S. Turner and Sons
