Herbert G. (Sheppy) Shepherd, Jr.

Mr. Herbert G. (Sheppy) Shepherd, Jr., 65, of Decatur died Thursday, March 17, 2005 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Bowman Shepherd; daughters, Susan S. McKinnon, Sherron C. Shepherd; grandson, Michael L. McKinnon; father-in-law, Julian Bowman; mother-in-law, Marie Bowman, brother-in-law, Michael S. Bowman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dianne and Ronald turner; and a host of aunts, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. Shepherd graduated from Tucker High School and attended North Georgia College. He was a charter member of Briarcliff Baptist church. He was the broker of Briarcliff Realty Company. Mr. Shepherd was a much loved pillar of the community and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20th, at Briarcliff Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Bigger will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
