Hollis Earl Roberts

Hollis E. Roberts, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Roberts; five sons, Ed Roberts of Winter Garden, FL, Donnie Roberts of Grantville, GA; David Roberts of Williamson, GA, Dennis Roberts of Newnan, GA, Jeffrey Roberts of Atlanta, GA; two stepsons, Jerry Glawson of Lawrenceville, GA and Randy Glawson of Atlanta, GA; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bettye Meals of Danville, AL, Martha Baker of Hartselle, AL; one brother, Calvin Roberts of Athens, AL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gradie Roberts of Moulton, AL and J. B. Roberts of Hartselle, AL, mother and father, Ruth and Cordie Roberts of Danville, AL. Mr. Roberts served his country honorably in World War II. He was wounded after crossing the RhineRiver in Europe. He was owner of Roberts Motors. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31 from 6-9 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons. The funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 PM in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA. Interment will be at FloralHillsMemoryGardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA.
