Hopie W. Eubanks was born March 25, 1932. He passed away in his home on April 2, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Waver Clarence and Hettie Maude Eubanks, his brothers, George and Tom Eubanks and his sister, Hettie Sue Boggs. He is survived by his nephews, Wayne and Jimmy Boggs, Robert Eubanks; his nieces, Virginia Addison, JoAnn Young, Charlotte Boyd and Laurie Lovelace, along with numerous other great nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Patsy Belcher. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur, Georgia. He graduated from Decatur Boys High and Georgia State University. He retired from Dun & Bradstreet after 37 years of service. In 1997, he was recognized as a Decatur Hometown Hero. He was a member of the Decatur Business Association and was an active member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. He spent many passionate hours serving his church, his community and Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
