Horace Edward "Ed" Finley, 78, of Decatur, died October 11, 2013. A native of Scottdale, Mr. Finley served his country in the U. S. Air Force, retiring in 1972 with over 20 years of honorable duty. After his military retirement, Ed was employed by Ralph Skillern Automotive Service, where he worked for over two decades. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose Finley; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and David Sloan of Covington, Betty and Tim Parker of Covington, Sandra and Gene Little of Snellville, Helen and Mario Padilla of Loganville and Heather Hall and her fiancé, Scott Boling of Covington; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters and one brother. The funeral service will be held 2 pm, Monday, October 14, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Rev. David Sloan officiating. Burial will follow at Melwood Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends 2-5 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
