Howard Samuel Givens

Howard "Sam" Givens, age 72 of Duluth, GA passed away Oct. 19, 2012 at Gwinnett Medical Center of a heart attack. First wife, Sandra Brunson Givens, and daughter, Lyndra Givens, predeceased him. Sam is survived by his second wife, Barbara Gabor Givens, daughters Amy (Michael) Tomlin; and Melissa (Matthew) Hamburg, granddaughters Emily and Bailey Tomlin, grandson Eli Hamburg, and grand-nephews Joseph and Matthew Wright, Visiting hours are on Monday, Oct. 22 from 6-8 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Briarcliff Baptist Church, with a cortege to North Atlanta Memorial Park on Winters Chapel Road. The family invites all attending back to the church hall for light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sam's name may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society.
