Hoyle Lusk Wilkes, Jr.

Hoyle L. Wilkes, Jr., 87, of Decatur passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018. He was born on December 19, 1930 in Hamlet North Carolina, to the late Grace Gregson Wilkes and Hoyle Lusk Wilkes, Sr. Hoyle graduated from Monroe High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 and is a Korean War Veteran. Hoyle was an active member of the Decatur community and was often seen walking stone mountain. He is preceded in death by his cousin Mrs. Theresa D. Melnyk. Hoyle is survived by his cousins Mrs. Martha M. Downer, Dr. Stephanie M. Evans (Tim) and Mr. Phil Melnyk of North Carolina and close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Drake of Virginia. Special thanks to all his amazing neighbors on Joiner Court for their love and support. A graveside service will be held on Floral Hills Memory Garden and Funeral Home in Tucker, GA on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 am.
