Mr. I. C. “Ivey” Orr, 92, of Clarkston died Monday, March 29, 2010. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. Mr. Orr was a long time member of Clarkston United Methodist Church and had worked for The Ford Assembly Plant in Hapeville, retiring in 1982 after a career of thirty years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat Whaley Orr; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ed Cotter of Watkinsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Renita Orr of Ball Ground, Scott and Sherry Drummond of Duluth; sister, Allene Hitt of Dalton; brothers, Bonnie Gene Orr of Sugar Hill, W. C. Orr of Hoschton; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Clarkston United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, with Rev. Ellen Hopkins and Dr. Larry Amos officiating. Burial will follow in Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
