Idus O Cooper

January 10, 1928 — April 11, 2011

Idus O. Cooper of Eatonton died Monday, April 11, 2011. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, was a sales representative for Fulton Supply Company for 35 years and established Cooper Enterprises in 1988 providing specialty tools and equipment for the railroad industry. Idus was a member or Briarcliff Baptist Church, the Reynolds Plantation veteran's association, the Reynolds Plantation Men's Golf Association. He was a member of the Conyers VFW Post # 5290, Lithonia Lodge #84 F&AM and Yaarab Temple. Idus was a lifelong resident of DeKalb County before moving to Reynolds Plantation in 2002. He was an avid Golfer. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Verba (Ricky) Brown of Loganville, Glori (John) Burrell of Lawrenceville and Melissa Berry of Dacula; grandchildren, Heath Brooks, Parker Petree, Andrew Petree, Kimberly Berry and Robbie Berry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Entombment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
