Ina F. Collins

April 24, 1927 — October 4, 2008

Mrs. Ina F. Collins of Stone Mountain, GA passed into Heaven on Oct. 4, 2008. Her husband of 63 years, John F. Collins was at her bedside holding her hand when she passed. Ina Collins was a hairstylist for sixty-five years. She owned and operated Georgia’s largest and finest beauty salon at Toco Hills Shopping Center for a number of years. She then moved Thomas Courts Motel on N. Decatur Rd. across the street from the Emory University Presidents residence. Her salon was the finest in Georgia with handmade styling stations. The hair dryers featured their own color television and channel selector. This salon was the first of its kind in Georgia. Mrs. Collins and her husband were seriously injured in a hit-and-run car wreck at midnight in a rainstorm while leaving Hartsfield Airport after taking her sister there for a flight out of town. Neither Mrs. Collins or her husband ever fully recovered. She is survived by her husband, John F. Collins; son, Robert Wesley Collins of Loganville; brother, Charles N. Fouche of Eatonton; and sister, Lena Fouche of Stone Mountain. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 12th, Rev. Lamar Weaver and Rev. Bobby Frank Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
