Ira Calvin West, Jr. or “Buddy” to his family was born on January 4th, 1969 in Atlanta, GA passed away on June 8th, 2020. He was a resident of Gwinnett County all of his adult life. To know him was to love him. His whole world was his family. He and his wife were married for 29 years and she was the love of his life, along with his children. He was a truck driver for Southeastern Freight Lines for over 30 years. His wife, Robin and his children, Jessi and Josh, and his granddaughter, Jada Belle, survive him. His in-laws, Joyce and David Gunby, his brothers, Allen West, Johnny Allen, Jimmy Beauford, Todd Gunby, and his sisters, Pam Parker, Karen Gunby and Judy Allen, along with several nieces and nephews, also survive him. He is welcomed home in heaven by his parents, Ira Calvin West, Sr. and Dorothy Jean West, his loving sisters, Emily West, Linda Beauford, and Lesley Nunn. He enjoyed spending time with his family either on the lake or at the pool at his home. He was the most generous, caring, forgiving, most respectable man you would ever come into contact with. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. Sundays were his day to relax and watch football. He was a humble man with an extraordinary life. He will be so very missed. In lieu of flowers, the West family asks that you spend time with your family, spread love and compassion as Calvin would have.
