Israel Jacob Buda

Israel Jacob Buda May 2, 1997 to October 11, 2015
Beloved Son, Brother, and Friend
Israel was a gentle sweet soul- a kind hearted man of 18 years old. He was a Junior at Lakeside High School. As a competitor, he was a Comet Award winning wrestler, a rising star. He enjoyed football, soccer, video games, and a good game of cards with his best buds. He completed a three-year program of Air Force ROTC and aspired to serve in the military.
Israel enjoyed bacon donuts and a good cup of coffee. As a student of Culinary Arts, he created delicious dishes that we all enjoyed. He learned by doing. He loved gardening with his Daddy and hunting and fishing with his Grandpa and Uncles.
Israel was thoroughly connected to this world through his understanding of Nature and its way of fostering curiosity. Beyond his years in the art, he was a fine fisherman and he went after it with everything he had. With excellent knife skills he could filet a fish without leaving a single bone… a true gift.
As a child of God he lived his name, learning and worshipping with the congregations at Briarlake Baptist, Mcellanville UMC, and on his own. He made beautiful evergreen wreathes and worked on ornate floral tributes for icons at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. There he learned to light candles in memory of his loved ones. Through his Faith in Jesus Christ he discovered a love that surpasses all understanding.
This was his way and his work. It brought delight to many teachers, family, and friends. In his memory, we captured his heart for a moment… in his eyes and his smile. He now rest with God. We commend his spirit to a love that never fails. You are our treasure forever. We will miss you dearly.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. this Saturday at Briarlake Baptist Church, at 3715 Lavista Rd, Decatur, GA 30033.
