Mr. J. C. Davis, 79, of Scottdale died Sunday, August 2, 2009. Born to Carlos and Doll Davis in Roanoke, AL. He was retired from the glass industry after 25 years of service. He was predeceased by his sister, Lonita Butler of Decatur. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Davis; sons, Barry Davis, William Chester Davis, both of Scottdale; daughters, Sandra Davis and husband Randy of Scottdale, Delores Allred of Germany; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Lucrete Pilgrim of Scottdale, and brother, Fred Davis of Social Circle. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Rev. Charles Grant and Mr. Chad Richards will officiate. Interment will be at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 9:00 pm Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
