Mr. J. D. Head, 83, of Tucker, died Thursday, January 14, 2010. Mr. Head served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a co-owner for 50 years of Baker Delivery Service. Mr. Head was a proud member for over 50 years of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of The Annunciation. He is survived by his wife, Glynda B. Head; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Susan Head of Lilburn; step-daughter, Jinnifer Hoyla and her husband Michael of Acworth; granddaughters, Lainey Tatum and Amanda Woodworth; step grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth and Isabel Hoyla; great grandchildren, Stephen Burnett, Chase Tatum, and Travis Woodworth.; sister, Agnes Cochran of Palmetto; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2:30 P.M. Monday, January 18 with Father Christos Mars officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, January 16, and Sunday, January 17 with a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
