J. Mercer Brown

Mr. J. Mercer Brown, 78, of Atlanta died Tuesday, August 28, 2007.  He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Scott Brown; brother, J. Scott Brown, Jr.; and parents, J. Scott Brown and Sara Hudson Brown. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn S. Brown; son, Alan Mercer Brown and his wife Denise of Roswell; sister, Mrs. Jane B. Temple of Lawrenceville; and grandchildren, Genevieve Brown and Kyle Brown. Mr. Brown, a native Atlantan, graduated in 1952 from the University of Georgia. Mr. Brown was active in the Georgia Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association for many years. He owned several automobile and truck tire, repair, and alignment businesses in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31st, Dr. Bob Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday evening and one hour prior to the services at A. S. Turner & Sons.
