Mr. Jack F. Benson, 82, of Stone Mountain, died April 20, 2008. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Aidan Culliton, and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Sue Benson; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Dana Benson of Alpharetta; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and James Culliton of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Taylor Benson
and Kelsey Benson; brother, Dr. Joseph R. Benson of Wetumpka AL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A native of Covington County, Alabama, Mr. Benson served his
country during WWII in the U. S. Navy. He was retired from the Centers for Disease Control, where he worked for 34 years. After retirement, Mr. Benson worked for a number of years at the Carter Center in Atlanta. He was a member of the CDC Foundation and the Wastonian Society of CDC Employees. A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Rev.Michael Holdt officiating. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the CDC Foundation or Egleston Children?s Hospital of Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at A. S. Turner and Sons.
