Jack V. Dorsey of Decatur died Thursday, September 15, 2005. He was a decorated U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is a longtime member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #72. After deciding to make a career
change, he earned both an LLB and LLM from Woodrow Wilson College of Law and practiced law for 27 years in the Atlanta area. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Georgia State Bar Association, Decatur-DeKalb Bar
Association and American Trial Lawyers Association, and a former Scottish Rite
Mason, and Shriner. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jo Ann Mize Dorsey, Decatur, GA; daughter, Jane Virginia Dorsey, Decatur, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Joan Marie & Paul David Prance, Arab, AL; sister & brother-in-law
Elaine & Richard Ladzinske, Lithonia, GA; brother, James D. (Jimmy) Dorsey, Stone Mountain, GA; sisters-in- law, Beth Mize & Susie Manning & her husband Paul, all of Cartersville, GA; brother-in-law, George Mize, Elijay, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father and mother James V. Dorsey and Ida Kinnemur Dorsey, both of Atlanta. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, September 19, 2005 at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Fred O. Pitts & Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. There will be a private interment at a later date. The family will receive friends in the church vestibule from 1 until 2 PM and a reception will follow after the service in the church fellowship hall.
