Mr. James Andrew (Andy) Vaughn, 83, of Decatur, GA, passed away April 15, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vida Moore Vaughn; his daughters, Leta Vaughn, Susan (Stan) Bexley, and Andrea (Mike) Waters; his grandchildren, Michael (Kelly) Whitley, Jason (Lesley) Whitley, Sarah Waters and Emily Waters; his great grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Victoria, Grace, Gabriel and Savannah; his mother, Mrs. C. L. Vaughn, Sr.; brothers, John Vaughn and C. L. (Angela) Vaughn, Jr.; and his sister, Denna Vaughn Gunn. Andy grew up in Sheffield, AL; joined the U. S. Navy at age 17, worked on the Sheffield, AL Police Force while attending the University of AL, from which he graduated in 1951. Andy retired from A. T. & T. in 1985, after a career of 34 years. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S Turner & Sons Funeral Home located at 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends there, Sunday from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
