Mr. James A. "Joc" O'Conor 87 died Wednesday December 28, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in January 28, 1924 in Springfield, MA to James G. and Victile Atlee O'Conor, Mr. O'Conor was a Decorated World War II Veteran, a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, was in Operation Tiger, The Normandy Invasion, Assisted in the structural building of Emory, and Yerkes Primate Building. Mr. O'Conor is survived by his Daughters; Lynn Davenport, Anita O'Conor, Carol O'Conor, sons; James W. O'Conor, Michael O'Conor and Brian O'Conor. 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday with a Rosary Service at 8 pm . A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday at 11 AM at St. Thmoas More Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Melwood cemetery. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
