James Rufus Branscomb

James Rufus Branscomb (Jim), 64, of Newnan Georgia passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2024.

The celebration of life service will be held at Pinecrest Church (103 Old Norton Road, Fayetteville Georgia, 30215), at 11:00 A.M. on June 22, 2024. Jason Housely and John Christopher of Pinecrest Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday June 21^st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home 2773 North Decatur Road Decatur GA, 30033.

Jim was born in Decatur, Georgia on September 28, 1959. He graduated from Druid Hills High School (class of 1978). Jim and Karen were married on January 7, 1989, and were married for 35 years. Jim worked for Piedmont Hospital for 38 years. He enjoyed trips to the lake, reading, and traveling.

Jim is survived by Karen his wife, Jack his brother (Lisette), brother and sister in-laws, Ron, Michael (Donna), Gary, Rick (Lynda), Craig (Cindy). Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great, great nephew. Cousins, close friends, and many others who loved him.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Branscomb. Karen’s parents Avery and Ruth Owens. Sister in-law Judy Owens, aunts, uncles, grandparents and many more.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Pinecrest Church (103 

Old Norton Road, Fayetteville Georgia), or Bridging the Gap (BTG, 19  1^st Avenue, Newnan Georgia, 30263).
