James Matthew “Cabie” Washington, Jr., 76, of Decatur, GA, passed away on August 17, 2021 after a prolonged illness.
James was born on December 19, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a graduate of The Rayen High School. He worked as a brakeman for Youngstown Sheet & Tube before moving to Fountain Hills Arizona in 1998 and then to Atlanta in 2002.
James was predeceased by his parents, James Washington, Sr. and June Jenkins Washington; a sister, Sharon Washington; a daughter, June Estelle Washington and a son, James Washington, III (Daniela Rosas) He leaves to treasure his memory, a sister, Brenda Washington; his wife of 55 years, Lynda Lawson Washington; a daughter, Stacey Washington Paschal; sons Mark Washington, Illya Smith (Maritza); Rory Jefferson and Dion Jefferson (Shara); grandchildren Cameron Paschal, Kaelyn Paschal Timpson (Atrez), Matthew "Nico" Washington, Elliot Smith, Courtney Smith, Renee Schulmeister, Joshua Hayes, Nautica Jefferson, Dionna Jefferson, Jontre Jefferson, Taylee Jefferson, Zianne Jefferson & Trevon Jefferson; great grandchildren Jaleah Timpson, Kingston Timpson, Aubrie Timpson and Nailani Timpson; nephews Kevin Washington, Vance Washington and host of other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
James gave his life to Jesus Christ in 1980 and was a member of New Life Christian Center in Decatur, GA. He loved being outdoors, family gatherings, fishing & football.
