David Ingram of Lilburn, GA passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009, at Heritage Health Care of Lilburn after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Mr. Ingram was born on Sept. 3, 1923 in Dooly Co, GA to Madison Joiner, and Ruby Forehand Ingram. He grew up in Lilly, GA, graduated from Vienna High School in Vienna, GA and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. He served in the Air Force during World War II and then spent his entire career of 43 years with Kysor-Warren Co. in Atlanta and Conyers as Office Manager. He was passionate about ballroom dancing and was dancing at Gwinnett Senior Center in Lawrenceville the evening he was taken to the Emergency Room. After spending time at DeKalb Medical Center, he spent three weeks at Heritage Health Care where he was treated with compassion by everyone, especially nurses Tina, Faith, and Veronica; and by therapists Lisa, Antonio and Patty. He also loved bowling and was involved with a senior league until a few years ago. He was a member of St. Timothy Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, GA. Preceding him in death were his parents of Lilly, GA, his brother, Herbert J. Ingram of Cordele, GA, and his first wife of 39 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Ingram of Stone Mountain, GA. Surviving are his loving wife of 14 1/2 years, Patricia Ann Stanfield Ingram of Lilburn, two sons, James D. Ingram, Jr. and his wife Linda of Kennesaw, GA, and Phillip Kenneth Ingram of Decatur, GA. Also surviving him are three nephews, Judge Stephen J. Ingram of Cordele, GA, Dr. Mark M. Ingram and his wife Michelle of Vienna, GA, and Larry Jones of Vallejo, CA; two nieces, Melinda Ingram Fowlkes and her husband David of Burkeville, VA and Tami Lutton of Vallejo, CA, along with several great nieces and nephews, Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11:00 am at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA with visitation at 10:00am before the service. Rev. Larry T. Burgess officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, GA. A. S. Turner & Sons
