James Ed Walker, age 88, died October 29, 2004 after a brief illness. He was born in Abbeville, GA. He joined the Army Air Force in 1942 and served in England, Gilbrator and Italy. In 1948 he bought the Dothan Tire & Recapping Company of Dothan, AL and continued in business until 1971. He returned to Atlanta in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Yancey Walker; son, Jim Walker; daughter, Claire Holland; two granddaughters; three grandsons; sisters, Lorene Keene and Eugenia Anderson; brother, Harry Walker; and many nieces & nephews. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews. Pallbearers are deacons of the First Baptist Church of Roswell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Monday at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
