James Edward (Ed) Brown, age 82, died on Sunday, April 3rd in Atlanta, GA. Ed was born November 30, 1928 in East Orange, New Jersey. He was the youngest of three boys born to George F. and Margaret Mackay Brown. He served in the Korean Conflict from February 1951 to January 1953. He was assigned to the Army security agency. He attended Pace College and Queens College in New York. Afterwards, he worked for National City Bank in New York. Other subsequent positions included serving in credit manager roles for General Electric Credit Corporation (1955-1971), Barwick Corporation (1971-1980) and Kawneer Company (1981-1997). He was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Men's Credit Club of Atlanta, and the Men's Garden Club of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents George F. Brown Sr. and Margaret Mackay Brown; brothers, Neil Brown and George F Brown Jr. Ed was a caring, devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Brian E. Brown and daughter-in law, Kathleen F. Brown; daughter, Jean Marie Drezek and son in law, Lester Drezek; grandchildren, Kevin C. Brown, Katherine E. Brown, Brendan K. Brown, Grant E. Drezek and Claire M. Drezek. The family is particularly grateful to his loving caregivers, Linda Griffin, Diane Inniss and Jerry Conklin. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 11:00AM from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Atlanta. The Family will receive friends from 10:00AM till 11:00AM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hospice Atlanta or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur.
