James Edward Pittard

James E. Pittard, 84, of Atlanta passed away March 4, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leo Burtz Pittard. He is survived by three brothers, C. Wilson Pittard and wife Madeline, Jack W. Pittard, Sr. and wife Salee, and Bobby B. Pittard. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. He was noted for his concern and generosity toward his friends and relatives. ?Jim?, as he was called, was in the machinery business for more than 50 years. Funeral services will be at DeFoor Avenue Baptist Church, 1871 DeFoor Ave., NW, Atlanta, on Friday, March 7th at 11 a.m. Dr. Rob Winstead and Rev. John Moody will officiate. Mr. Pittard will lie in state beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs on Mt. Vernon Hwy. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6th at A. S. Turner & Sons.
