James Eugene Wilson, Sr.

October 1, 1923 — November 6, 2009

James Eugene Wilson, J.D., 86 passed away peacefully on Friday November 6, 2009. A native of Savannah, GA he was the son of the late Myrtle Thompson Wilson and Dr. James French Wilson. He graduated from Savannah High School, attended Univ. of GA for 1 year, entered the Marines during WWII, serving in the Philippines and China. He graduated from Armstrong Junior College, earned his Doctorate in Law from Emory University, and practiced law for 60 years. He is the author of 5 books, including the best seller “How To Fight the IRS & Win!” Mr. Wilson was an active member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, and served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was an avid table tennis player, winning a GA District II championship in 2002. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Wilson Erickson, and brothers, Robert Evans Wilson and Ralph Daniel Wilson. Mr. Wilson is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Caroline Lord Wilson; daughters Caroline Christie & husband Dr. Alan Metzel, Elizabeth Hudetz and husband John, and son James Eugene Wilson, Jr. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Christie Rodgers, Maggie Mabie, and Aria Hudetz; two grandsons, Previn Hudetz and wife Tisha and Hollis Hudetz; two great grandsons, Curtiss Cavitt and Jacob Rodgers. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 – 8pm. Funeral service to be Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. Graveside services to be Thursday at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Benevolent Fund at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Rd., Decatur GA 30033.  A. S. Turner & Sons
