Mr. James F. “Jim” Cook of Decatur died Monday, January 5, 2009. He was a native of Whitney, SC and a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Cook was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. He is survived by his wife, Cathy L. Cook; sons, James Michael “Mike” Cook of Decatur, Dennis James Cook of Spartanburg, SC, Eddie Cook of Spartanburg, SC, Doug Cook of Seattle, WA; daughters, Terri Ann Messer of Enoree, SC, Sandy Peterson of Missouri, Kim Scarbrough and husband Steve of Loganville; and granddaughters, Leslie Scarbrough of Monroe, Jessika and Katenlyn Cook of Spartanburg, SC; grandson, Ethan Cole Cook of Decatur;12 other grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his beloved pet, Rosie. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 8th at 12:30 p.m. A. S. Turner & Sons. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veterans Affairs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7th at A. S. Turner & Sons.
