James Gale Todd, Sr.

James Gale Todd, Sr., 74, died on February 3, 2016, after an extended illness in Decatur, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Helen C. Todd; his brother Roger L Todd (Nancy) of Albany, GA; a sister Linda Machen of Chiefland, FL; his sons, James G. Todd, Jr. (Julie) of Athens, GA, Joseph V. Todd of Clarkesville, GA, Jeffrey E. Todd (Lisa) of Hoschton, GA; his stepson Michael Boggs (Teresa) of Winder, GA; eight grandchildren, James O. Todd, Emily K. Todd, Jeffrey T. Todd, Amber M. Todd, Hunter H. Todd, Christopher Michael Boggs, Jessica Boggs Coffee, Kristin Boggs, Joseph Hardigree, Melissa Pilsner, Jessica Hardigree and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe D. Todd

James was born on August 25, 1941 in Monterey, TN. to parents James D. Todd and Hazel Tudor Todd. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1964 with a BBA in Public Administration. He moved to Savannah, GA in 1966 where he served as a Vice President at Strachan Shipping Company until retirement. He later moved to Decatur, GA.

A funeral is scheduled for February 6, 2016, at Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2997 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends at the Church beginning at 12:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with burial immediately following at Floral Hills Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in James' memory to Crossroads Hospice, 1957 Lakeside Pkwy, Suite 500, Tucker, GA. 30084.
