Mr. James (Jimmy) Bugg, age, 73, retired aeronautical engineer and later a teacher at DeKalb Technical Institute, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in Pennsylvania. He succumbed to cancer. Jimmy was born in Dadeville, AL, the son of Thomas Bugg and Esperance Flurry Bugg. He graduated from Dadeville High School, attended Auburn University, and earned his degree from the University of Georgia. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed with the NASA Space Program in the design of the Saturn Rocket. At Lockheed in Atlanta, GA, he worked on the Hercules C-130 and helped design the C-5A transport. Jimmy taught mechanical technology for 21 years at DeKalb Tech. He enjoyed motorcycle travel, fishing and radio-controlled model airplanes. Collins Bugg; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Nora Bugg; grandson, Jonathan Bugg, all of Pennsylvania; and his brother, Ralph Bugg of Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA. Rev. John Kilpatrick will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Camp Hill Cemetery in Alabama. Those who wish may send flowers or those desiring may send contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2200 Century Pkwy., Atlanta, GA 30345. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
