James Howard Pilger, 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Parkside Post Acute and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Pilger was born August 15, 1919 in Syracuse, NY, son of the late J. Howard Pilger and Alice O’Hara Pilger. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II. He retired from Lockheed, where he worked as a Senior Accountant.
Survivors include his wife Reable Franklin Pilger; a son, Gregory H. Pilger; grandchildren, Chelsea E. Eoff and Stefan G. Pilger; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Nelson and Shannon Nelson; a brother, John Pilger and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Arlington Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur.
