James (Jim) Wood

Mr. James (Jim) Wood, of Dunwoody, age, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church for 37 years.  Mr. Wood retired from General Electric as a manager.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Jenkins Wood; daughters, Freida Wood of Douglasville, Catherine Lilly of Dallas, TX, Susan McCormick of Athens; and step-son, Dick Owens of Big Canoe.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. J. Hoffman Harris officiating.  Interment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Flowers may be accepted, but donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to the Metropolitan Hospice, Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
