James (Jim) Adair LeVert was born March 12, 1931 and died at his home on February 11, 2025. Jim was born in Atlanta Georgia to Eugene Harold LeVert and Cora Mae LeVert (Bond).
He served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson Law School in 1959 and was employed by the Atlanta Transit System in the legal department. He worked for several insurance companies and law firms until 1996 when he started his own business.
Jim met his beloved wife Gloria in high school, they married in 1950, and were married for 70 years. They had 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
In 1965 he founded the Gresham Park Boating Club. He wrote the by-laws, registered it with the state and succeeded in obtaining a lease of 13 acres from the Corp of Engineers at Clark Hill Lake. He retired from the club in 2019 to care for his wife.
Jim was a member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church and was a methodist his entire life. He was a devoted family man. He loved to travel and traveled all over the world with Gloria.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gloria Roland LeVert, his brothers Eugene LeVert and Donald LeVert, and two grandsons James Gardner and Joshua Gardner. He is survived by daughters Randalyn (Tommy) Smith, Penny (Russell) Gardner, Cathy (Jeff) Paulen, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on February 22, 2025 at 2:00 in the chapel at Dunwoody United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 1:00. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, a cause Jim supported.
