James Luther Oliver

James Luther Oliver, 90, of Spring Arbor, formerly of Lake Point Landing, Hendersonville, NC, died Saturday evening, October 22, 2005 at the Elizabeth House following a brief illness. He was a native of Covington, GA. He was formerly a resident of Atlanta, GA before moving to Henderson County six years ago. He owned and operated service stations in the Atlanta area for over 50 years retiring in 1977. He was a member of Balfour Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC and a member and Deacon of Peachtree Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA for over 55 years. He was also a Mason. He was a son of the late Harvey and Cassie Aaron Oliver. He is survived by wife of 68 years, Amogene Ruth Caldwell Oliver; two daughters, Jane Swafford of Hendersonville, NC, Ruth Ann Fleming of Littleton, CO; one son, Jim Oliver of Asheville, NC; one sister, Gwendolyn Brown of Carson City, NV; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA with a memorial service at a later date.
