James M. Burke

James Montgomery Burke of Atlanta, GA., 54, died on Monday, January 7, 2013.

He was born on June 12, 1958 in Decatur, GA to James D. and Mary Jane Burke. He attended Lakeside High School. He received a National Merit College Scholarship for his outstanding performance on his SAT. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology. He is remembered fondly by his friends and family for his wittiness and kindness. He was of great assistance in caring for his elderly parents. His niece and nephews enjoyed his whimsical imagination at family gatherings.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Burke of Dacula, GA, his sister and her husband, Edie and Don Atkinson of Dacula , GA, his brother and his wife, Edmund and Julie Burke of Roswell, GA, his niece, Lauren Atkinson, and his nephews Chad Atkinson, Josh Burke, and Zack Burke.

Funeral Services will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur, GA on Friday, January 11, 2013. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm. Service will follow in the chapel at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
