Mr. James Nolan Strickland, 87, of Lilburn, died Friday, March 19, 2010. A graduate of Tech High, he served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired Purchasing Department Manger for the Southern Territory of Sears Roebuck & Co., where he was employed for 45 years. Mr. Strickland was a long time member of E. A. Minor Lodge, #603 F&AM. Also, he was a member of South DeKalb Kiwanis Club, and a Key-Club advisor at Columbia High School. He was a long-time member of Briarlake Baptist Church and was a current member at Mountain Park First Baptist Church. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Johnson Strickland; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Kam Hudder of Lawrenceville, Susan and Stan Dause of Denver, CO, Karen and Harrison Waller of Lilburn; sons, Dana Strickland, Greg Strickland, both of Lilburn; grandchildren, Kimberly Mele, Travis Strickland, Jason Strickland, Adam Cooper, Jessica Waller and Jennifer Waller; great grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Nathan, Aiden and Ava; brother and sister-in-law, Winton and Joan Strickland of Hopkinsville, KY; brother-in-law, Harvey Bethea of Stone Mountain. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
