James Ralph Everett

James Ralph Everett, age 86 of Decatur, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014. He was born in Kingston, GA to Edgar and Claudia Everett and lived in Shannon, GA until 1964 when he moved to Doraville, GA. In 2007, he moved to Clairmont Place in Decatur, GA and became an active member of the community there, where he had many friends, especially Frances Williams. Mr. Everett was in the U. S. Army and attended the University of Georgia before having a career in insurance and finance. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charline Hudgins Everett. He is survived by his two sons, Ron and wife Kathleen (Atlanta) and Steve and wife Yayoi (Chicago/Atlanta); brother J. M. Everett (Rome, GA), sister Ollie Mae Kincaid (Rome, GA), and grandson Matthew Everett (Atlanta). A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16 at 2:00 pm at Miller and Richards Funeral Home, 1148 North Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17 at 2:00 pm at Clairmont Place, 2100 Clairmont Lake, Decatur, GA 30033.
