Jane Carlton Nied

Jane Carlton Nied, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Walter S. Nied, and her sister, Georgia Carlton. She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Anne Brewer and her husband Roy, and John Nied and his wife, Lisa; sister JoAnne Leike and her husband, Dick; grandsons Joe, and his wife, Melissa, Jeremiah and his wife, Vicki, Josh, and his wife Jennifer; twelve great grandchildren; and many more loving family and friends. Jane was born in Savannah, GA, on November 28, 1932.

Jane graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1953 from Temple University School of Dentistry where she met her husband, Walter, who was commissioned in the US Navy Dental Corp. Jane and Walter were married on May 20, 1954 at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta. They spent their first married year together stationed in Guam. Jane was quite a gifted artist and had A passion for creating paintings and sketches. She was also blessed with a beautiful voice and musical talent. Jane joined the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in 1959 and remained a faithful member until her passing. She was very active in her church community over the years and contributed in a variety of ways. She loved singing in the choir, and in many other aspects of her faith. A Funeral Service for Jane will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
