Jane Cope

September 13, 1910 — August 5, 2007

Mrs. Jane Cope, a longtime resident of Decatur died Sunday, August 5, 2007.   She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur, where she sang in the choir.  Mrs. Cope was also a member of DAR, the Friendship Force, Georgia State Women's Club and the North Decatur Lions Club.  She was a former manager of the Emory University Book Store, and also a former English and Latin teacher.   Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Lucius Cope and William Grubbs.  She is survived by her son, Charles Cope of Decatur; daughter, Janelle Jones and her husband Jay of Roswell; four grandchildren, James Hall, Jonathan Hall, Jason Jones and Jonathan Jones; three great grandchildren, Lily and Chase Hall and Anna Kate Hall; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8th at the First Baptist Church of Decatur.  Dr. Peter Rhea Jones will officiate.  Interment Decatur City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
