Jane Lee Horne

Jane Lee Adams Horne of Atlanta, daughter of Edward David Adams and Lillie Mae Scarratt Adams, died on April 13, 2011, at age 88. She is survived by sons: Rudy and (Sharon) Horne, Conyers; Marty and (Gail) Horne, Dawsonville; Tim and (Jill) Horne, Dahlonega; daughter Carol and (Charles) Livingston, Atlanta; grandchildren Jeff Horne, Portland, Oregon; Steven Horne, Conyers; Madison and Makenzy Horne, Dahlonega; and great grandchildren Lauren, Rachel and Ella Hagan; brother Edward Adams, Boca Raton, Fl. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Atlanta and attended Oglethorpe University. She retired from Emory University Clinic business office after 23 years of service. From an early age, Jane loved dancing. She danced at USO clubs for servicemen during WWII and she performed on the stage at the Fox Theatre. She taught tap dancing, and in her later years taught line dancing to seniors at the Briarcliff Oaks Retirement Facility and at other senior centers in Atlanta. She was a lifetime member and Senior Regent of the Atlanta Chapter of the Women of the Moose. She was a member of Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 16, 2011 at Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mary Lou Gilbert and Rev. Wallace Rice officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home. They will receive friends again one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church, 1015 East Rock Springs Road, Atlanta. A.S. Turner and Sons is in charge of the arrangements.
