Jane McFarland Whitlow ended her long journey with Parkinson?s disease peacefully on Thursday, August 12 at A.G. Rhodes Home at the age of 79. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 14 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to A.G. Rhodes Family Council or Oak Grove Methodist Church Outreach. Jane was born in Rossville, Georgia as part of the founding family of that town. She attended business school and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. After marriage she worked side-by-side with her husband at F.L.S. Whitlow Incorporated for 40 years while raising her family. She will be remembered by her friends and family as a loving and devoted mother, wife, and neighbor who enjoyed escaping to their cabin on Lake Lanier and sharing a good joke. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stan Whitlow; daughters and sons-in-laws Gayle and Don West of Alpharetta and Janet and Carson Kennedy of Atlanta; and grandchildren Ashley West, Zach West, Chandler Kennedy, Rossie Kennedy, and Callie Kennedy.
