Jane Seward Scott

Mrs. Jane Seward Scott, 84 of Atlanta, passed away May 11, 2007. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Seward of Altoona, PA, she graduated from Hood College in Frederick, MD with a Bachelor's Degree and received a Master's Degree from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She was the Director of Christian Education at Druid Hills Methodist Church for several years prior to her marriage to Dr. Thomas P. Scott, Jr. in 1955. She is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Scott, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas P. Scott III and Lalla Shishkevish, David R. and Tracie Scott; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Travis Bass; grandchildren, Ed and wife Lauren Bass, Elizabeth Bass, Sasha Scott, and Margaret, William and Patrick Scott; great grandchildren, Edie, Travis and Scott Bass. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Decatur First United Methodist Church with Bishop L. Bevel Jones, Dr. David Naglee and Rev. Frank Brock officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Tabor Methodist Cemetery in Newberry County, SC, near Whitmire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Decatur First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons.
