Janet Ellen Roe, 64, of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2009. Janet fought a courageous 2 ½ year battle against ovarian cancer. She inspired many by maintaining a positive attitude despite the obstacles she faced. Janet was born in Decatur, GA to John and Della Mae Ross and married Ronald Roe in 1964. Janet and Ronnie enjoyed 45 years of marriage and raised 2 children, Angela Cathy Syverson and husband Dain Syverson; Michael Roe and wife Claire Roe; 7 grandchildren, Savannah Denham, Drake Denham, Alysa Syverson, Kristen Syverson, Ansley Roe, Alec, Roe and Hayden Roe. Janet is also survived by her sister Jane lee and her husband David Lee. Janet was a homemaker and had a passion for taking care of children and spreading the love of Christ. She especially enjoyed her group of friends, “The Medlock Mom’s” and her numerous prayer partners. Thanks Janet for being a part of our lives, may your spirit renew us until we meet again. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Janet Roe on Thursday, September 24 at 2:00 PM at Decatur Presbyterian Church with Dr. Todd Speed and Rev. Nath Briley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 23 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
